Saint Joachim Catholic School believes that a student’s appearance has an impact on his/her attitude and behavior. The dress code is also helpful for developing a sense of modesty and appropriateness. The school uniform represents appropriate attire at a Catholic elementary school. The administration has a duty to enforce against fads or fashions that do not promote Catholic values. Respect for the school community is manifested through an attitude of “dressing up” rather than “dressing down” for school. Attending a Catholic school is a privilege and students are expected to conform to the school dress code.
The school sells SCRIP for both of the uniform providers and parents are strongly encouraged to make their purchases with SCRIP.
The primary purpose of our school uniform code is to assure that the students of Saint Joachim School be neat, clean, and well-groomed for all school activities. This code will be strictly enforced. Students are expected to be in full uniform at all times, except on designated non-uniform days, or if they have a note from their parents stating a reasonable excuse. Parents are responsible to see that their children are dressed in accordance with this code from the first day of school to the last. Students who come to school without proper attention to personal cleanliness, grooming or neatness of dress may be sent to the office to call their parents so they may come with the appropriate remediation.
